I stumbled on to this channel today and have watched a few. Thanks for this video because I kept thinking ..... she's adorable, but why is she in DC? Now I have the answer. DC is my hometown. I grew up running the streets with my friends and stayed thru college. I live 3 hours east of DC now but always loved the city. Tip: The museums connected to the Smithsonian are all free. The National Zoo is also free, although there is a small fee to park on the grounds. Welcome to DC.

Unpopular opinion - I don't hate the dresser at all, including the handles - I think they have a nice flirty vibe, good for a bedroom :) can't comment on the quality though. But - it looked SO DIFFICULT to assemble! I thought I was pretty self-confident in terms of interior works, home decor, DIY, arrangements etc. but apparently I am too used to IKEA :) I'm so impressed (ever since your Australian room rearrangement series) that you're doing it all by yourself and don't even hesitate :)

I think it’s better if you put the dresser in your walk in closet and remove the hanger. It really suits a walk in closet. Otherwise it’s better to turn the dresser. If you walk in your bedroom you would see the draws in stead of the side. That way you are inviting the dresser in the room instead of just in a corner. And it’s more efficient while getting dressed🥰 just an idea🙄

you should put the rug in your bedroom!

It's so fun to see your progress on your home. You build a lot of furniture - have you considered an electric screwdriver? They don't cost much money and will save you a lot of time over the years. Also, if cleaning the lampshade doesn't work, you can take a little white correction fluid from an office store or a white marker (Sharpie makes some) and cover it up.

Since you are in DC there are so many nice thrift stores in the area where you can get a nice dresser and furniture for much cheaper.

The lamp is s pretty. Have you considered a sisal rug? That would look calming & brighten the space. I'm not you, but I tire of colourful, or busy patterned rugs quickly, so that would be my unsolicited, internet friend advice LOL

Put a bar cart or plant stand in the space.

The dresser is cute, a task rabbit once told me when assembling crappy-ish furniture to use wood glue at all the connections to kind of reinforce the piece a little bit more.

For the empty space next to the console table buy the small desk of the same kind and put it there

Your apartment is coming along nicely. For the stain on the lampshade, take a little dishwashing liquid and a small brush (toothbrush is perfect) and dip into the dishwashing liquid and brush lightly. Do it for a few minutes, then rinse it out and do it again. It should come out.

Use a magic eraser to take the black mark off your lamp shade.

Wow you did a great job assembling the tallboy, even if it's poor quality it still looks nice. The new lamp is gorgeous. I think a lovely white phalaenopsis orchid plant in a ceramic pot would look really elegant on your console table. It would level up the whole display, perhaps in more of a French provincial style of decor if that appeals to you. Have a great weekend x💐☺💖
